About our DCF Summer Camp
The Department of Children and Families (DCF) is New Jersey’s statewide agency dedicated to supporting, empowering, and enhancing the well-being of children, youth, and families across New Jersey.
The Nouvelle Health DCF approved Summer Camp is designed to provide a supportive and engaging environment for children with developmental disabilities. We offer a wide range of activities tailored to foster development, encourage social interaction, and create lasting memories.

Typical Day
Campers are assigned to a group based on their age and participate in activities that follow this typical schedule:
9:00am – 9:20am Arrive at Nouvelle Health
9:20am – 9:30am Attendance and Check-in
9:30am – 9:45am Morning Circle
9:50am – 10:20am Indoor/outdoor play
10:25am – 10:55am Arts & Crafts
11:00am – 11:30am Music: Karaoke Freeze Dance
11:35am – 12:05pm Nature & Science: Slime Fun
12:10pm – 12:50 pm Lunch
12:55pm – 1:25pm Special Event: Talent Show
1:30pm – 1:45pm Prepare for Afternoon Departure
1:45pm – 2:00pm Departure
Engaging activities

Every activity is intentionally designed with one central goal — creating joyful, meaningful fun. Campers move through a structured rotation of engaging experiences such as music, arts and crafts, science projects, nature exploration, and a talent show.
All activities are thoughtfully planned to encourage social interaction and to strengthen essential social skills, including taking turns, listening to instructions, and following safety expectations. The result is a supportive, inclusive camp environment where every camper can participate, connect, and thrive.
Each activity is led by specialists who bring both expertise and genuine enthusiasm for their field. Counselors accompany campers throughout the day, offering modeling, hands‑on support, and guidance whenever needed.
